Freshman guard, Jaden Martin, who originally planned to go to Marriotts Ridge, played with a chip on his shoulder as he had has own homecoming. Commenting on the game, Jaden stayed humble and said, “It was a lot of fun, and I had a great time seeing everybody else having fun too. I just focused on playing basketball.”
Junior guard, Marc DeSimone, happy win the win, said the game was “a great team win, and was shown through our team’s chemistry. This increase in team chemistry has been a key to victory in our five game win streak.”
Ten games through the season, the Hawks have finally begun to bounce back after a very slow start, and will look to continue this hot streak. Come out and see the Hawks battle the Howard Lions (4-5) at home Friday night.
JV Basketball at Marriotts Ridge
Wednesday was a tough loss for the JV Hawks as they lost to Marriotts Ridge for the first time in Coach Martin’s career. The 61-50 loss was tough due to lack of availability of players to come off the bench.
Coach Martin said, “Only having eight players out of fourteen available due to sickness, and player decisions resulted in our poor play. Due to lack of size due to player decisions, we lacked in the size we needed to rebound the ball.
