Action/Adventure movie Zootopia was released in theatres on March 4, 2016. The city of Zootopia is introduced as the place for all the animals to go. When Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. It also means she has to work Nick Wilde a wily fox who makes her job even more difficult.
Zootopia was directed by Byron Howard, Rich Moore, and Jared Bush. These directors are known for directing movies such as Bolt, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Horton Hears a Who, The Simpsons Movie, and Big Hero 6. Howard has been in the animation business for a while now, and has directed other animated films such as Chicken Little, Brother Bear, Lilo and Stitch, Mulan, and Pocahontas. Moore has also been in the animation department for a while too, his most notable work being the very popular, Wreck it Ralph. Bush has done not only movies, but also video games, namely Disney’s game, Disney Infinity 3.0.
Since the movie included animated characters, the actors only served as the voices for the characters.
Some of the actors that voiced the characters are Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps, Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Jenny Slate as Bellwether, Nate Torrence as Clawhauser, and Bonnie Hunt as Bonnie Hopps.
There are several songs used throughout the movie by different artists. Some of the artists who wrote the songs that were played are Shakira, Daveed Diggs of Hamilton, and Andrea Datzman. The songs throughout the movie set a happy and joyful mood for viewers. Since Zootopia aims to appeal to younger viewers, this mood is incredibly appropriate.
I would recommend this movie to someone who wants to have a good laugh, and also recommend it to younger kids who enjoy animated movies. However, Zootopia can be appealing to older kids who enjoy animated movies, it’s not the kind of movie that would be boring for an older kid to watch. It has a lot of comedy!
