As winter is just around the corner, River Hill will be having their winter sport pep rally on November 26th. That day is also on a half day, “which is just as exciting,” says junior Anasofía Alamo.
The pep rally will consist of many performances, games, and competitions. One of the sponsors of the executive board, Mrs. Noecker, states “the games for this pep rally include a pie eating contest, an air mattress relay race, finish the lyric, and basketball knockout.” Basketball knockout is a favorite game that’s played at most of the previous pep rallies. The other games are new.
There is a lot of planning and preparations to ensure that the pep rally is a fun and successful event for everyone. The SGA Executive team is working hard to make sure the pep rally is the best they can make it. Senior Sara Khan, a member of the executive board, states, “we have been having weekly meetings, and are getting the script all ready… we saw what was successful in previous pep rallies and we have chosen the games based on what went well.”
Not only is the SGA team working tirelessly, so are the performers. Junior Abi Asante, a member of the step team, says, “we have been practicing twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and our step routine is looking good. I can’t wait for the school to see it!” Another performer, senior Gina Dhaliwal, a member in choir, states, “our choir has been rehearsing three times a week, and we are excited to show the school.”
Many students are looking forward to this day especially because “it’s way more fun than being in class,” comments Mischa Norwangi. Another student who is excited, sophomore Al Pages, remarks, “I can’t wait to see all the performances and people compete in the games!”
There is so much to look forward to when it comes to the winter pep rally. The SGA team, teachers, and students are doing everything they can to make sure it’s a success.
