As the fall season approaches, many people begin putting up decorations and making more festive food. One of the many fall associated foods are Swiss Pumpkin Rolls. Swiss Pumpkin Rolls are a delicious circle-shaped roll filled with sweet cream cheese inside. Many people enjoy this unique dish and the cozy feeling it yields.
As people are celebrating the upcoming fall season, many are starting to go into a baking frenzy. Vickie Backus says that “It’s an enjoyable activity to do during the fall season. I love to bake pumpkin rolls and many other fall foods.” Abiha Maklik also states that “fall is such a nice season, I love to bake with me and my family. The smell of the spices and the bonding we do is fun.”
The most typical recipe for a Swiss Pumpkin Roll contains the following ingredients: ¾ cups all-purpose flour, ½ tsp kosher salt, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp pumpkin spice, 3 large eggs, 1 cup granulated sugar, ⅔ cups pumpkin puree. Mix it all together and place it in the oven to bake. Once cooled, spread on the sweet cream cheese, and then add powdered sugar after rolling the dessert.
When baking this dessert, many memories associated with the smell of pumpkin come to the surface. Amaal Arain expressed “growing up, my mother used to make pumpkin rolls in the kitchen, I remember sitting with my family and having a blast, laughing and enjoying a really good dessert.” Sophomore Sophie Kouncar conveyed that “Homemade pumpkin rolls are the best, the scent and the memories it brings with it is very comforting.”
Swiss Pumpkin rolls are also one of the easiest desserts to make. Rayan Amimi voices that “ It’s an easy dessert to make, me and my mom make it all the time. It really is less time consuming.”
Pumpkin rolls are really a nice dessert to make, they aren’t too time consuming and taste really good. This fall you should give it a try.
