With the 2018 school year coming to a close and summer quickly approaching, many of River Hill’s students are preparing for a packed summer that they had planned since the first days of school.
All the excitement seems to be centered around travel. People are going all across the world this summer, with many people leaving the United States to vacation in foreign countries. One student, freshman Alexandre Docouto, said, “I am excited for summer because we are going all over, the beach and Portugal.”
Another student, freshman Sarantis Markaris, is also excited about his travel plans for this summer, saying, “I’m excited to fish in Greece and to have a bit of time to relax and get ready for the next school year.” We all need some time to recover after a long school year, and vacations like this are helpful to do so.
However, Greece and Portugal are not the farthest River Hill students will be travelling this summer. Freshman Awais Khan is travelling all the way to Australia and will be staying there for an entire month.
“I can’t wait for the summer because it is going to be completely different from anything I’ve ever experienced!”
Even the students keeping their vacations domestic have big plans for the summer. Freshman Hudson Kennedy says, “I’m going to spend my summer with friends, going to the beach, and on road trips with my family.” A simple trip to the beach can be one of the relaxing vacations out there and a great way to spend your summer.
Some students are more excited about having off school than the actual vacations that they will be taking. Junior Noah Wauls says, “I just want to relax over the summer and enjoy the break from school,” which goes to show how necessary a summer break is right about now.
While you may not look forward to going to school every day, just remember that summer, along with all those vacations and trips you have planned, is always closer than you would think.
