As seniors begin to wind down their high school careers, they finally have the time to reflect upon the chaos of September and November earlier this year. As all seniors know, that’s the time for college applications, and frankly, little else. However, now that the application process is all said and done, not everyone is on the same page about when they’re going to get decisions back. Because of that, I’ve put together a list of colleges of which most seniors applied to at least one of the schools on the list.
University of Maryland, College Park is probably the school most River Hill seniors will apply to, and luckily for seniors, the wait is over. If you applied for the early deadline, you should have already heard back from your college by now.
Towson is another school most people apply to, and like Maryland, it had its own application separate from the common app and by now, seniors should have heard back from them.
University of Maryland, Baltimore County, like its College Park counter part, has also gotten back to those who applied by the earliest deadline, make sure to check your decision, as UMBC is also separate from the common application.
University of South Carolina – This school has also mailed its application decisions by now, so if you haven’t heard anything, make sure to send the admissions office an Email!
University Of Delaware – UD, as of 2/9, has gotten back to only a portion of those who have applied. Be sure you are checking your application daily as you could be hearing back any day now.
Rutgers University – Rutgers has started rolling out their decisions, but be prepared for a long wait if you end up at the end of the admissions line. If you applied early, expect to hear back from them in the next month, stay vigilant.
James Madison University – JMU so far has yet to get back to anyone, but expect to hear back in the next month or two. Regular decision ended on January 15th, so if you applied close to that deadline, expect to be waiting for a quite a while.
Virginia Tech – Assuming you didn’t apply early bird (binding) for Virginia Tech, you don’t need to check your application until April 1st at the earliest. Expect to hear back by mid to late April, so sit back, relax, and stay positive. Your decision will come eventually!
If for some reason you don’t hear back from any of those schools, contact your Guidance Counselor, Email your Admissions Office for the respective school, and check your application to make sure you did everything correctly. Good luck!
