Snow is falling, the weather is freezing, and everyone is staying home. Do you want something fun to get you out of the house? Well River Hill has just the the thing, a winter dance!
The Snowball dance will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 7:00 p.m – 10:00 p.m. The tickets are being sold now during lunch for only $10.00.
The dance will be much like homecoming, with a less formal attire. There will be a Dj that will be playing a variety of popular music, water will be available, and the class of 2019 may even be providing a bake sale, so be sure to bring some money to enjoy some delicious treats!
In previous years winter dances haven’t always been successful at River Hill, but the staff and SGA members have been working very hard to make it happen. Class of 2020 SGA member Jasmine Frey says, “our SGA has made tremendous efforts into getting the dance approved and advertised. Despite what you may think, there are many steps into getting events, especially something as big as a winter formal, approved.”
Tremendous efforts have also been put in to promoting the dance, “we have submitted application after application to get our slides and announcements out on canvas, hawk talk, the hawks eye, and the outdoor sign” states Frey. Along with this she also comments that “posters had to be approved for a blitz around the school to increase awareness of the dance.”
“From ticket sales, to posters, to stages of approval, to working with the class of 2019’s sga, we have put in months of work into trying to make this dance happen.”
Appreciate all the hard work your fellow classmates have put into this and dance. Take this opportunity to get dressed up and have a night of fun with your friends for a low cost. Forget about the stress of Homecoming and Prom and enjoy a casual night full of dancing and singing!
