The Angels Network Club at River Hill High School is excited to announce their annual Thanksgiving Drive. This initiative aims to support local families in need by collecting non-perishable food items, toiletries, and other essential goods. Through the generosity of the students, staff, and community members, the Angels Network club hopes to make the Thanksgiving holiday season a little brighter for those facing hardships.
The Angels Network club is a way for students to gain service and volunteering hours, by providing for neighborhood needs and donating to nearby shelters such as Grassroots. For this year’s event, officers asked for small donations that will be a part of their collection drive at Claret Hall. Donations such as granola bars, crackers, and chips, were needed to create the most versatile food bags for anyone. Members all came together to make sure this year’s event went smoothly. One junior member of the club, Adrianna Ponticos, who participated in this event, says “my favorite part of this year’s event was making decorating cards and being able to feel like a kid again.”
This year, the Angels Network Club’s Thanksgiving drive was a heartwarming success, focusing on creating cards, collaborating with friends, and donating to shelters for those in need. “It was amazing to see everyone come together for such a worthy cause,” said freshman Alexa Oranwusi. Club members designed heartfelt cards to bring joy to those less fortunate. “Working with friends made it even more special,” added junior Karen Interanio. The drive culminated in a generous donation to local shelters, ensuring a brighter Thanksgiving for many. The school community’s spirit of giving was truly inspiring, and the impact was felt by all involved. .
Donations to Grassroots are made possible through the collaboration of Angels Network club presidents who work hard to make this experience rewarding. “The organization focuses on helping local communities, and the contributions will make a significant difference. “It’s not just about giving, it’s about coming together as a community to support one another when times are hard,” said junior Hanna Mulugeta. Through the various activities, including organizing donation drives and creating care packages, club members all worked together alongside friends to make a difference.
The Angels Network Club is an opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours while making a difference in the community. The club is built on the principle of teamwork, with everyone working together to achieve common goals. “Volunteering with the club has been such a rewarding experience,” said member Isha Patel, a sophomore. “We all support each other and collaborate on projects, from organizing donation drives to planning community events.” Sherina Sen added, “It’s amazing to see how much we can accomplish when we come together.”
The club not only provides valuable volunteer hours but also fosters a sense of community and friendship among its members. Whether it’s creating care packages, helping at local shelters, or participating in environmental clean-ups, every activity is a team effort. Members learn the importance of giving back and develop essential skills like leadership, communication, and organization. The club’s inclusive environment ensures that everyone feels welcome and valued, making it a fulfilling experience for all involved. Overall, the Angels Network Club is more than just a way to earn volunteer hours; it’s a chance to make lasting memories and positive impacts in the community.
