Spooky season is here, which means it’s finally time to dress up. Every year people take joy in all of the fun attached to Halloween. Trick-or-treating with friends and family has been a well-known tradition for many years and is the best way to show off what ghostly creature you dressed up as.
Many decided to take the funny approach when choosing a costume this year. Alexis Pages says, “It is going to be a rat costume because I am going as Remi from the famous film Ratatouille.” When asked where she drew inspiration from, she explains “I am going with my friend and she always calls me a rat when I get on her nerves.”
If you are struggling to find just the right place to get your supplies, Don’t fret! Nora Abujuma has you covered, “Probably like Party City, I know they have some great selections and costumes you can go to. This is also a good place to find liquid blood, latex, and even a bald cap.” She also states, “amazon too, basically any online store will have what you are looking for, you just need to make sure it comes in a timely manner.”
It seems that many and most are doing a group costume with their friends. “Some of my friends from River Hill wanted to do a group thing, so all of us are going to be some kind of thing from the Japanese era,” Scott Wallace explains. Although, he is not the only group to look out for this year. Olivia Campbell expresses, “I am going to be doing a group costume. Since I am going as Barbie, my friend is going to wear a Raquelle costume. We found most inspiration on Pinterest.” As we can see, it is more fun when you can be silly with your friends.
One thing everybody loved was resurfacing past costumes in hopes of finding new ideas for years to come. When asked what her favorite year of dressing up was, Taliya Shanahan voices, “Probably last year because I was a firefighter which included many parts of the costume that I was interested in trying.”
Overall most people look forward to Halloween and surprising their peers with their spooky costumes. From a firefighter, to Remi the Rat, the important part is to have fun!
