Friday night, River Hill boys basketball beat Wilde Lake 52-46 that was tight throughout the whole time. Lead by the 25 points from Charles Thomas IV and the 14 points from Gary Sandler, the Hawks were able to pull away late and seal the opening night victory. The next game is Wednesday at Mt. Hebron at 5:30, where the Hawks will try to improve to 2-0 on the season.
JV lost to Wilde Lake 35-34 in a game where they had the lead early, but the lead got away after a surge from the Wildcats. River Hill had one last shot to try to win the game, but the field goal attempt was no good and sealed the victory for Wilde Lake. Wednesday will hopefully be a bounce back game for the JV Hawks, as they travel to Mt. Hebron at 4:00 to take on the Vikings.
