The Pitch Perfect trilogy masterfully created an empire within the film industry, attracting millions of viewers all over the world. When the first pitch Perfect movie came out in 2012, the public outroar was immense, being one of the most innovative and hilarious movies of the time.
Over the next couple of years, 2 more Pitch Perfect movies came out, each being more successful than the last. Concluding 2017 with a bang, Pitch Perfect creators (directed by Jason Moore and written by Kay Cannon) decided to develop one final movie, Pitch Perfect 3. So far, the movie has been a box office hit, producing 88.5 million dollars worldwide as of January 10th 2017.
The first two movies depicted a female college acapella group at Barden University, who called themselves the Barden Bellas. These films display the freshman to senior college experience for the incoming freshmen in this group, mainly surrounding Becca Mitchell (portrayed by Anna Kendrick, known for roles in the Twilight films).
Becca is not a big fan of others, being a huge introvert, but one with a passion to make music. She joins the acapella group as an ultimatum from her father, but ends up making the friends of a lifetime, including “Fat Amy” (played by Rebel Wilson), Chloe (Played by Brittany Snow, known for previous roles in Would You Rather), and Aubrey (portrayed by Anna Camp, known for previous roles in True Bloods and The Mindy Project.)
The third film regards the girls life after college, struggling to find jobs and a happy lifestyle. Aubrey’s father gives the girl an opportunity that they jumped on immediately, perform one more time together. They were able to perform for the USO show against a couple other bands and singers, with a prize of continuing performing with hit music sensation DJ Khaled.
Throughout the USO tour, the girls get to explore Europe and laugh every moment of it. After the 4 performances, DJ Khaled chooses Becca, only her, not the rest of the Barden Bellas, for continuation on his tour. Although the girls are sad to separate, they understand and support Becca on this new and exciting adventure.
A major aspect of the film that emphasizes its quality is the use of music. The girls sing popular music and add a twist to it, making it extremely enjoyable to watch for viewers. Adding the aspect of singing into any movie can often make it more entertaining, and the Pitch Perfect series does just that.
The movie ended on a bittersweet note, allowing fans to appreciate the journey of the group and imagine their amazing futures together. Overall, Pitch Perfect 3 is definitely the perfect conclusion to the series.
