At River Hill High School, there are a number of clubs that students can join in which they can learn new things, become better leaders, learn about culture, learn languages, bond over common interests for games and tv shows, eat food, make movies, and do just about anything (even croknit!).
If there’s a fun activity you like to do or even just an idea in general, there’s probably a club for it as well. Some of the following are just some of the enjoyable clubs offered that you should check out!
This school year, a new club came into view at River Hill High school. JOLT! If you are a Jewish teen, or just someone interested in learning more about Judaism, Jewish food, culture, activities, or music, then the Jolt club is the place for you.
Recently this club was opened, and it’s a place where anyone can have fun, hang out with Jewish teens and just learn about culture! Their teacher sponsor is social studies teacher Leslie Topus, so if this club sounds fun to you, they meet in room 120 Wednesdays after school. Be prepared to learn a lot about Jewish culture and participate in fun activities!
Another fun ethnic club is the French Club, or Le Cercle Francais which meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month after school in Room 137. If you want to learn more about French culture, this club is the place for you. The French Club also loves to bake classic French foods and take trips.
If you are one of those people who are insanely good at Rubik’s cube, yup, there’s a club for that too. Want to spend your free time figuring out the intense puzzle called a Rubik’s cube? Then go to the Rubik’s cube club! This club meets on Fridays after school in room 120.
If you love to be a leader and have any interest in running for class president one year, think about joining the SGA. The SGA creates opportunities for many young leaders to plan dances events and many other activities and get lots of experience working, while having fun! If you want to learn more about SGA, check out the school website!
As you can see, there are so many different clubs for people of all interests and if you have an interest, you have a club! If there isn’t a club for the thing you love, you can even start your own club with friends that like it too! There are so many options at River Hill, become part of the student body and join a club at River Hill!
