Now that the school year is in full gear your academically ready for the tasks headed your way. However, are you ready for the plot twists thrown at you every Thursday night from the new ABC hit show How to get Away with Murder? That’s right murder, the word that convicts and defines people for the rest of there life. Of course the show isn’t really about how to throw yourself in jail for the rest of your life but rather how to avoid spending time in jail with the help of a great lawyer.
How to get away with murder is a new series airing on ABC every Thursday night at 10 pm EST. The season is now three episodes deep and is already packed full of information for the viewer to keep in mind. The main character is a determined lawyer named Professor Annalise Keating played by Viola Davis. Some of her law students that work for her include Michaela Pratt played by Aja Naomi King, Wes Gibbins played by Alfred Enoch, and Connor Walsh played by Jack Falahee. A very diverse cast that really knows how to get into their characters is is just one aspect that makes this show fantastic.
The show involves three main points in every episode and have been consistent from the pilot episode; flashbacks to the murder of an unidentified man, the murder of Lila Stangard, and the current case of the weeks episode. All three of these components factor into a very tough understanding and comprehension of the show itself. From just watching the pilot episode I was overwhelmed with information, which was expected, because pilots are designed to bring viewers back for more. Once the second and third episode aired it was more prevalent that this will be a series in which you cannot miss one episode or you will be lost.
On the other hand the series shows great promise for the rest of the season. Ratings have been coming in great and the show is being shown a lot of love especially participating in the T-G-I-T hash tag in which Greys Anatomy, Scandal, and How to get away with Murder come on all on one night. Shonda Rhimes has made her living off of all these shows and continues her amazing legacy with How to get away with murder.
This show is a lot to handle with the plot twists, characters and cases given. However if you are in the mood for a suspenseful drama with a great roster of actors this is a show for you!
