“It’s the perfect texture honestly, not too liquidy, not too solid either” states Ian Kirn, who is a big fan of spooning his smoothie.

The school’s decision to instal smoothie machines is the best decision the administration has made in a while. Who can be sad when they are sipping one of these fruity delicacies. That’s right. No one. Had a bad day? Let the strawberry soothe your soul. Feeling tired? A zip of mango-pineapple will do the trick.

You know what is even better? The price for one smoothie is only $1.75. That is a steal for a real fruit smoothie. For 5$ you can get a full lunch and a smoothie. This just goes to show that HCPSS cares about it’s students, and is not afraid to show it.

“This made my day honestly, I didn’t eat breakfast so I came here to get a smoothie during A lunch” says Nina Esposito Faraone. These smoothies are so versatile.

The only downside is that they take a while to make. You have to add ice with the fruit and then wait for at least 45 minutes before they are the right consistency to serve. One day, I wanted a smoothie before 1st period and I was so happy until the lunch lady told me “ sorry they are not ready yet”. The availability of the smoothies might be delayed to A lunch until further notice.

Either way, students are very happy with this slight change that made such a big difference in their lunch experience.
