Quarterback on the football team and goalie in lacrosse, Thyberg has always known he wanted to play at the college level. \u201cI\u2019ve loved to play sports since I was old enough to hold a stick. I can\u2019t imagine not playing,\u201d he explains. \u201cFootball is fun, but lacrosse is my passion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Along with playing Division III lacrosse, Thyberg hopes to pursue a premed degree. \u201cI love the idea of taking on a difficult and time consuming major, but still being able to do what I love. I\u2019ve always wanted to be a doctor, but I\u2019ve always wanted to have an activity to do on the side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thyberg was involved with the school\u2019s production of Cinderella and takes band lessons in his free time. He also is involved in Chorus.<\/p>\n<p>In the fifth grade, Noah\u2019s life was turned upside down after he was diagnosed with myocarditis. The disease weakened his heart, causing him to need a transplant. \u201cI\u2019m so blessed to wake up today and be able to go play a sport I love. I will never take that for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Randolph Macon Men\u2019s Lacrosse, led by Coach J.B. Sheridan, is a competitive Division III program. Although they had an upsetting season last spring, only winning six games and losing eleven, Noah is anxious to begin his career as a Yellow Jacket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited for him. It\u2019s definitely a great fit, and I think he has the ability to succeed,\u201d says friend and teammate Patrick Gover.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve gone my whole life playing lacrosse and I don\u2019t want to stop now,\u201d smiles Noah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Emily Thornton, staff writer Senior Noah Thyberg recently committed to play lacrosse at Randolph Macon.
