Not too long ago, auditions were held to become an anchor, and three students were lucky enough to receive the opportunity of doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The role includes making announcements once or twice a week to the entire school during the first five minutes of third period. Announcers announce things such as clubs, school events, important updates, and student accomplishments.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freshman Shivali Shah expresses that she \u201cthought it would be more stressful, but everyone is so relaxed.\u201d Shivali takes inspiration from her mom who \u201cis a journalist\u2026she&#8217;s been doing this for a while, so I wanted to try it out too.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another new anchor, Noelle Markos, says that her \u201cfavorite thing is getting to speak in front of a camera and collaborate with the other crew.\u201d Noelle elaborates that \u201cthe hardest part is making sure you\u2019re reading the lines properly because the teleprompter can go fast.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team of anchors includes Shivali Shah, Noelle Marcos, Kayla Garnett, Gabi Demuren, Hallie Goldstein, and Lauren Shin.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the announcers are a big part of the operation, the Hawk Talk staff are also extremely important to ensuring everything runs smoothly. \u201cI have been a HawkTalk crew member for the past school year,\u201d freshman Sophia Chudnovsky comments, \u201c\u201cThere are many things I love about being a part of the HawkTalk productions\u2026 However, my favorite part is definitely getting to meet such amazing people from various grades!\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although there won\u2019t be more morning announcements for the rest of the year because of finals, we look forward to Hawk Talk next year!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ayah Hassan, Staff Writer Now that the seniors have graduated, students must fill in their roles as anchors for River Hill\u2019s Hawk Talk.
