Better Call Saul season 6 is now available on Netflix, after many viewers have waited 9 grueling months to find out what happens to Saul Goodman. The show is a prequel and a sequel to the critically acclaimed show Breaking Bad. Any fan of Breaking Bad should definitely check this show out.

The show hooks viewers in with black and white scenes to show the sad fate that has befallen beloved Breaking Bad character, Saul Goodman. Left to wonder how this could have happened, longtime viewers are hooked. The majority of the show takes place before Breaking Bad, with season one beginning with Jimmy McGill’s (Saul Goodman) rise in his profession of law. Jimmy’s exploits are accompanied by his longtime friend and lawyer, Kim Wexler, another major character throughout the show. Other characters from Breaking Bad, such as Mike Erhmantraut and Gustavo Fring, reprise their roles to the delight of many fans.

The first season is the shortest of all with its slower pace as it goes into depth of Jimmy’s character and how he becomes the person we see in the future. It is a good season overall but can feel dragged out in situations where the story is uses filler episodes, instead of important storylines. The second season is much of the same but definitely starts to pick up as more characters are added into the show.

Season 3 is a crucial season to the series that really shows what makes this show great. Vince Gilligan is a phenomenal director and really knows how to build up anticipation, and demonstrate character development. One of the greatest things about the show is the performances of all the characters, especially Bob Odenkirk who plays Jimmy, and Rhea Seehorn who plays Kim Wexler. These performances make the show standout and bring emotion to the characters that will have you emotionally involved and wanting to see what happens next.

Every season of the show seems to turn up the intensity and the flow of the characters’ development is flawless, and season 6 is no exception. As the show goes on, it is good to see familiar faces from Breaking Bad more often as the story progresses closer to where the previous show ended. People definitely need to check this show out and not to give up on it after season 1, as senior Matthew Behrmann said, “I almost gave up on the show after the first couple of seasons were slow but I am so glad I stuck with it”

Better Call Saul is already regarded alongside the Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad as one of the greatest shows of all time, according to critics. Breaking Bad fans will enjoy this show even more as it brings something new for them, as senior Eshan Shah said, “Better Call Saul is one of my favorite shows and it gave me a completely different perspective on Breaking Bad as well.” Overall, Better Call Saul is a must watch show and its popularity is higher now than ever!
