When we were little kids, Halloween used to be filled with excitement and anticipation. We looked forward to going around the neighborhood with friends and getting all the candy we could get. As high schoolers, how do we enjoy it now, if at all? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, October 29, River Hill students found themselves walking to class with angels, Toy Story Jessie, construction workers and friendly animals  in the school hallways. However, most students do not celebrate Halloween as they used to when they were younger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNobody really does anything for Halloween anymore,\u201d says Freshman Chris Jung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many students feel as if they would enjoy Halloween more if the school were to have fun activities during or after school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophomores Addyson Miller and Pooja Swamykumar share their ideas: \u201cWe should do a haunted house or something like an escape room and the teachers can give problems related to their subject.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students were appreciative that teachers wore costumes and gave out candy to boost the Halloween spirit. Freshman Chris Jung says, \u201cTeachers and administrators made the day more exciting. I\u2019m glad the day was a bit more easygoing and we got candy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just because we\u2019re getting older doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t have fun, though! Just as many students enjoy hanging out with friends and trick-or-treating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Molly Gawthrop confesses, \u201cI miss going trick-or-treating and being a kid again, but people think it\u2019s kind of weird when older students do that, so I just hang out with my friends and watch scary movies or something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully next year, more students will be able to have an exciting Halloween!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
